Photo Scenes

Every location scene is followed by a corresponding scene which shows the character in the privacy of his room. His attention is drawn away from the screen to a snapshot which he is holding.

On each photograph, we see P happily engaged in the activity of which he was unaware as he moved through that scene. The following pages show the photograph which he looks at after each scene, along with a description of that scene for comparison.

P's response to this 'false memory' is to tear up and cast aside the photo, as if he recognises the falsity of the memory that the image suggests. He turns to the TV each time in search of authentic experience, but finds himself repeating his rigid patterns in every randomly chosen new scene.
